by Nacho T.

The resurgence of a classic
They say you should never throw away your clothes even if you get bored with them because fashion has the power to make a garment that you hated twenty years later become furious again, even with you.
The same thing has happened with ceramics, it was characterized for being a material that we were used to finding in the most traditional homes. Probably, this custom has not been valued enough, despite the range of possibilities it offers.
Among the trends preferred by consumers are ceramics and also pottery. Two sectors that were in disuse throughout the years due to their tendency to relate it to past times and with it to label it as “old fashion”.
This is why it is so striking that ceramics have gone from being a classic to almost an art, highly valued in the 21st century.

Events where the ceramics arrive treading hard
The beginning of the year betrays and defends this position, as many events and fairs are focusing on ceramics.
Within these events we find the International Porcelanosa Exhibition which took place from 21 to 25 January. During these days there was a brilliant exhibition focused on craftsmanship and decoration to offer a totally different perspective of ceramics.
On the other hand, it is closely followed by Cevisama, from 28 January to 1 February, where in addition to exalting a renewed vision of design, ideas focused on craftsmanship are offered to incorporate craftsmanship at home.
Integift will be the icing on the cake of this explosion in design and interior design from 6 to 10 February. Quite a surprise for those who seek to incorporate ceramics into their homes in a more glamorous way.

What does ceramics have that do not have other materials?
This is a material of the most versatile and chameleonic because depending on the colours and technique selected is able to adapt to any style. From the most romantic to the most industrial.
In the rustic environment, we are used to seeing ceramic pieces in neutral colours. Nowadays, decorating shelves with pots or small bowls and sets of plates provides a “chic” point even for the most hipster.
The variety of colours means that these pieces can not only be placed on shelves but also that the most classic table is transformed.
If your environment is more Nordic, the ceramics also harmonize perfectly and their rounded shapes bring warmth to the Scandinavian spaces.
In short, it doesn’t matter what space surrounds you. The ceramic provides a different and original point that leaves no one indifferent.
Are we facing a new decorative revolution?
